The Corvette is the only true sports car made in the USA. It is versatile, luxurious, powerful and imposing. Production of the C1 began in 1953 and continued until 1962 with a couple of Estonian revisions. A total of 3,640 were produced in 1954. New colors were available, but the six-cylinder engine and Powerglide automatic transmission. The 1954 models are known to have been painted blue, red, black and white. All 1954 Corvettes were equipped the same, powered by a 3.9L inline-six engine and a two-speed automatic transmission.
